Viñedos Emiliana joins the 2010 Solidarity Regatta

43 Chilean, Argentine, Venezuelan, and Brazilian naval officials visit Emiliana.

In solidarity with those in need after Chile’s recent earthquake, Viñedos Emiliana joined the 2,000 men and women who participated in the 2010 South American Sails Expedition, whose name has been changed to the Solidarity Regatta to tie in with the earthquake that shook the country.

Officials from the different navies enjoyed a wine tasting and a tour of the vineyards during a visit to Emiliana, where they were able to learn more about organic and biodynamic agriculture.

April, 2010. 43 officials from the Argentine, Brazilian, Venezuelan, and Chilean navies visited Viñedos Emiliana in Casablanca as part of the program of the 2010 Solidarity Regatta.

The objective of the invitation was to give the officials a moment of rest and tourism as part of the visit organized by the Chilean and Argentine navies. The event began in Río de Janeiro in late January and will end in Veracruz, Mexico after passing through Mar del Plata, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Isla de los Estados (Argentina), Ushuaia, Cape Horn, Punta Arenas, Talcahuano, and Valparaíso
.
The following ships are now anchored in the port of Valparaíso: Esmeralda (Chile), Juan Sebastián Elcano (Spain), Europa (Netherlands), Capitán Miranda (Uruguay), Libertad (Argentina), Gloria (Colombia), Sagres (Portugal), Cisne Branco (Brazil), Cuauhtémoc (Mexico), Guayas (Ecuador), and Simón Bolívar (Venezuela).

The ships will remain in port until next Sunday, when they will repeat the nautical maneuvers in the presence of Chilean President Sebastián Piñera. Meanwhile, the ships are open to visits from Wednesday April 14 through Saturday, April 17.
