Novas Carmenere Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Best in Class
In the 2009 International Wine & Spirits Competition, which promotes quality and excellence of the best wines, Emiliana received a Gold Medal and Best in Class for its 2007 Novas Carmenere Cabernet Sauvignon.
The products with the highest scores received the Best in Class, which were retasted for other national and international trophies. Emiliana also received a Silver Best in Class for its 2006 Novas Winemaker’s Selection Syrah Mourvedre and a Bronze for its 2008 Novas Chardonnay and 2008 Adobe Chardonnay.
These distinctions are awarded as the result of a rigorous evaluation process by professional tasters, chemists, and microbiologists in the competition’s offices in Surrey, UK: To ensure that the conditions are perfect, the site has temperature controlled storerooms, a fully equipped laboratory for chemical analysis, and three special rooms for product tastings.
The competition is backed by a group of vice presidents—men and women who are experts in the area—including French Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Miguel Torres, Italian Marquis Piero Antinori, Robert Drouhin, Robert Mondavi, May de Lencquesaing, Kenneth Graham, and Sir Anthony Greener.
